After class today, I got an auto-rickshaw and went deeper into Jaipur in search of more clothing (same pair of pants 3 times in a row = stink = no friends). The traffic is much more evident when you aren't protected from it. Shopping is my ultimate window to Hindi. On my quest to find a certain store, purchase something and bargain with rickshaw drivers, I must have spoken to 6 or 7 people. It's fun to shop because everything is 10 dollars or less and everyone tells you how good you are at hindi. How can you refuse sequins and compliments? Two of my favorite things!
Love,
Violet
Hi Violet, I am so excited to follow you on your trip! Not that you have to bring me back a present...but if the mood strikes you can you bring me the glass bracelets? love you! Claire
ReplyDeleteDid you have class already? I thought classes started Thursday...
ReplyDeleteTwo things:
ReplyDelete1) I am both reading this to myself and out loud to my parents, we think you are hilarious and ambitious.
2) I love you and wish you the best.
Glass bracelets, as in glass bangles or something else?
ReplyDelete@ Jessica: class started today but we were in our class room having an orientation about class yesterday. In school that would still be a class, and actually it ran longer than a normal school day. @ Kasey: Thanks and thanks. It means a lot to me that you all like it. Say hi to your parents for me!
