This is another picture from the anniversary party. Here I am in some of my Indian finery with some friends from the program. Today was not picture worthy. It was the first day of my first whole week of classes. I'm a total language nerd so I have actually really been enjoying my classes and today was no different. After class I didn't do anything except study, do optional grammar exercise (thrilling, I know) and watch Indian MTV. It's been way too hot to go outside. It's 10 pm now and it has just cooled off to a beautiful 105 degrees. There is a plan to see a Bollywood film in a theatre tomorrow. It is defintely dependent on whether or not the cinema is air conditioned (can you even call it a movie theatre if it isn't air conditioned? have you ever been to a theatre over 40 degrees?).
I'll let you know how it goes.
Love,
hi violet, wow! 105 degrees at night! do you have ac in your room?
ReplyDeletewhat are you going to do to celebrate your birthday this year? it's coming!
xoxo, Claire
Nice picture, but I can't make it bigger. How come I can click on and enlarge some of the photos and not others?
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you're enjoying class -- no idea how you became such a language nerd :)
How can I stop being "maxmoment"! Grandpa.
ReplyDeleteBeing a language nerd seems to run in our family. Wherever it came from it's great to be reading about your enjoyment of the Critical Language that got you to Jaipur in the first place. And you might be interested to know that yesterday I watched some Indians playing cricket in a field in north Amherst and the young man I spoke with shook his head when I told him you were in Jaipur: "That's no place to be this time of year". And cooling down to 105 seems to bear him out.
Grandpa
Claire,
ReplyDeleteI do have AC in my room. Some people in the program aren't so lucky. I am certainly happy about that. I bought a beautiful sari for my birthday so I'm going to have to plan something. However my birthday is the thursday right before an overnight trip with the whole program so I don't know how many people will want to go out. We'll see how it goes.
Mommy,
I have no idea how this thing works. It took me ages to upload this one picture so it probably has to do with the slow internet or something.
Grandpa,
I have no clue how you stop being maxmoment. Maybe it you sign on from a different account or update your profile. In regards to the temperature. It is pretty miserable but we get off peak prices which makes it a bit better.
Love, violet
Grandpa -- You can never stop being Max Moment and you shouldn't even try!
